Core Techniques
Lee’s primary clinical focus is pelvic health physiotherapy — a specialized field that uses both internal and external assessment of the pelvic floor muscles to evaluate strength, tone, coordination, pain response, and neuromuscular function. Using this assessment, Lee builds individualized treatment programs that may include:
- Pelvic floor muscle training
- Manual therapy to release internal and external soft tissue restrictions
- Visceral fascia mobilization — a technique that addresses connective tissue restrictions surrounding the bladder, uterus, and bowel to restore organ mobility and reduce referred pelvic pain
- Pelvic floor dry needling using Certified Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS) — uses fine needles to release trigger points within the pelvic floor musculature, reducing hypertonicity, neuromuscular guarding, pain, and incontinence symptoms
This combination of manual therapy, needling, and targeted exercise produces results for conditions — including dyspareunia, vaginismus, and pudendal neuralgia — that do not respond to exercise-only pelvic floor treatment.
Lee integrates a biopsychosocial treatment model that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques — recognizing that pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and chronic pelvic conditions are frequently maintained by central nervous system sensitization, psychological factors, and lifestyle contributors that physical treatment alone cannot resolve.
As a current teaching assistant with Pelvic Health Solutions — one of Canada’s leading pelvic health education providers — Lee works at the forefront of what is being taught and practised in pelvic health physiotherapy in Canada.
All of Lee’s initial appointments are 90 minutes one-on-one, with one-hour follow-ups, individualized treatment plans emailed to every patient, and video-supported exercise instructions — ensuring each patient receives the comprehensive, unhurried care that complex pelvic conditions require.

Clinical Approach & Philosophy
Lee’s treatment philosophy centres on the whole person — using a biopsychosocial framework that empowers individuals to find conservative solutions for pain management. She is passionate about health promotion and the preventive tools people can use to maintain and improve their overall wellbeing. She sees herself as part of the patient’s team, taking a genuinely collaborative approach: the more information a patient has, the more control they can take over their own health.
A first appointment with Lee begins with getting to know the patient thoroughly — their history, personal life, goals, and contributing factors using motivational interviewing techniques. She conducts a thorough assessment (both internal and external as appropriate), provides extensive education, and typically includes exercises and hands-on treatment in the first session. All appointments are one-on-one.
Patients consistently describe Lee as feeling like a knowledgeable friend — someone with whom they feel completely at ease discussing deeply personal concerns, while knowing they are in the hands of someone with exceptional expertise and a very large clinical toolkit built across 20 years of specialized practice.
Patient Outcomes
One of Lee’s most rewarding recoveries involved a patient with persistent hip pain who had reached the point of believing surgery was her only remaining option. She had significantly reduced her activity, including giving up running.
Through a specialized pelvic health approach — pelvic floor assessment and release techniques, targeted exercise programming, and detailed education about her condition — Lee helped the patient better understand and manage her symptoms. Over time, the patient regained strength and confidence, returned to running, and resumed all usual activities. While she occasionally experiences some discomfort, she now manages it independently and no longer feels defined or limited by her pain.
Personal & Community
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Lee spent 17 years in Calgary before returning home to raise her family near extended family. A busy mom of two girls, she stays active through downhill and cross-country mountain biking, golfing, snowboarding, and hiking. She is actively involved in her children’s school community.
As a teaching assistant with Pelvic Health Solutions, Lee is not only a practitioner but an educator advancing the standard of pelvic health physiotherapy — ensuring she has access to the most current evidence and techniques being taught in Canada.
