The diabetic population has risen drastically over the past few years. Just as it’s crucial for diabetics to maintain an appropriate weight to control their disease, it’s necessary for those who want to prevent type 2 diabetes to lose excess weight. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases said, “You may be able to prevent or delay diabetes by losing 5 to 7 percent of your starting weight.”
