Leah Dlot
Leah graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2006 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy and from the University of Western Ontario in 2016 with a Masters of Clinical Science in Manipulative Physical Therapy, attaining a certificate in Advanced Orthopaedics and Manual Therapy and becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT).
A former nationally ranked gymnast, Leah’s interest in physiotherapy developed at a young age. Her work as a physiotherapist has allowed her to remain involved in the gymnastics community which is a special passion of hers.
She has a keen interest in Women’s Health, concussion management and musculoskeletal injuries stemming from movement dysfunction. She strives to provide a thorough, positive and holistic approach to preventative and injury rehabilitation. Leah is also passionate about mentoring fellow physiotherapists, through hands on and discussion-based sessions.
Other certifications include Acupuncture, Functional Dry Needling, the Functional Movement Systems with several other post-graduate courses in the areas of Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Hard style Kettlebell, to name a few.
In her spare time, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and 2 children, Evan and Sadie. She strives to live a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle.

Justine Chartrand
Justine graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2013 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy and has worked in the Orthopaedic and Sports Injury setting since that time.
She has completed post graduate certifications which include acupuncture accreditation, Paris custom orthotics and casting course, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Level 1 and 2. She is currently pursuing her Orthopaedic level 3 courses.
She decided early on that physiotherapy was her passion, combining her keen interest for sports along with interacting with patients and helping them reach their individual goals. Justine believes in the active approach to treatment using a combination of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, myofascial release and education to maintain or improve function and prevent further injuries. In her spare time, she continues to enjoy playing hockey, running and yoga.

Christine Sharrow-Smith
Christine is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Masters in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology – Honors in Sports Psychology. She is certified in Acupuncture, Dry needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Advanced Orthopedics Manual and Manipulative therapy courses. Christine has recently expanded her practice to include working with the TMJ – Temporal mandibular joint (the jaw).
Christine’s love of sports and fitness started at a young age in Winnipeg while competing in volleyball and basketball. She was awarded a basketball scholarship which kick started her scholastic journey in Kingston, Ontario. She returned to Winnipeg to complete her Bachelor’s Degree and to later pursue her Masters.
Throughout her academic training, Christine worked as a certified personal trainer, which is what ultimately impacted Christine’s decision to pursue a career as a physical therapist. Christine believes in a patient oriented approach to treatment to maximize the long-term benefits for the client.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with her husband Taylor, and two children Grayson and Laska. They love to explore and spend time outdoors as much as they can. Christine also enjoys yoga, basketball, swimming, weight training and hiking.

Lee McCauley
Lee graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree in 2006. Lee previously worked as a physiotherapist with the Canadian Back Institute for five years before she worked in Montreal at International Headquarters with Cirque Du Soleil. Lee was a Research Clinician at the University of Calgary and has contributed to studies for Concussion Management in Hockey Players, Knee Osteoarthritis Prevention and Injury Prevention in Soccer Players.
It has always been important for Lee to remain educated in the latest information and techniques related to providing superior therapy. She uses evidence-informed assessment and treatment methods with a special interest in persistent pain. She treats the “whole-person” using a biopsychosocial informed framework to empower individuals to find conservative solutions for pain management. Lee is certified in acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and Gunn IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation). She is also certified in spinal and peripheral manipulation and completed her orthopaedic Level 2 Upper and Lower Quadrant training in manual therapy. She continues to expand her professional knowledge, with her primary focus on Pelvic Health. She is currently a teaching assistant with Pelvic Health Solutions and has specific training and experience in Women’s Health for diastasis recovery and improving pelvic girdle pain during and after pregnancy. Lee has completed additional specialty training in bladder & bowel incontinence, dyspareunia (painful intercourse), pregnancy & postpartum corrective exercise and pelvic organ prolapse. Lee is passionate about health promotion and the preventive measures people can take to maintain and improve their overall health and well-being.
Outside of the clinic, Lee is a busy mom of 2 and she enjoys spending time being active downhill and cross-country mountain biking, golfing, snowboarding and hiking. She is also an avid reader.

Kiersten Hilland
Kiersten completed her degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Manitoba and holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Winnipeg.
Kiersten’s journey into physiotherapy was inspired by her experiences as an athlete. Growing up, she actively participated in basketball and ultimate frisbee, where she encountered various injuries. These experiences led her to discover the field of physiotherapy and ignited her passion for helping individuals achieve their best possible health and continue doing what they love.
In her practice, Kiersten blends her academic background with a personal understanding of sports-related injuries and rehabilitation. Her approach is centered on providing personalized care that not only supports functional recovery but also enhances overall well-being. She is excited to continue learning through the Orthopaedic Division and pursue further education in manual therapy based courses, concussion training, and acupuncture/dry needling.
Outside of her professional life, Kiersten enjoys running, going to the gym, trying new foods, and traveling.

Rob Dreger
Rob has been a massage therapist in Winnipeg for over a decade, in which he honed his skills in trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and relaxation techniques.
He has worked in both clinical and spa environments and has also worked privately with a number of local professional athletes. Rob loves to help people work through both chronic overuse pain and acute injury and finds fulfillment in knowing he can help make a difference in patients lives. He personally lives an active lifestyle and believes it’s key to being healthy along with proper nutrition.

TaHa Hijazi
TaHa is a physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019 and his Masters of Physical Therapy in 2022.
TaHa is an elite athlete who played a variety of sports growing up. He learned the key principles of proper strength training at a young age and became an impressive power lifter. TaHa competed and coached at the provincial and national levels.
After retiring the inzer belt and wrist wraps, TaHa began to pursue his new passion for endurance sports. TaHa finished his first full marathon at the 2022 Manitoba Marathon and will start training for his first duathlon after he competes at the WFPS half marathon this October!
TaHa’s fervor for exercise shows in the way he practices and wholeheartedly believes that movement is therapy. In addition to his active-based approach, TaHa plans to further develop his manual therapy skills through the Orthopaedic Division. He also has a strong interest in other post-graduate skills including acupuncture, dry needling, Mulligan techniques and advances in exercise prescription.
In his spare time, you can find TaHa hiking in the mountains, running, cycling, cross country and downhill skiing, and strength training. He also enjoys promoting physical activity in the community and has volunteered for many events including motionball, Terry fox run and U–Turn Parkinson’s.

Rachel Wu
Rachel graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors of Physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba, School of Medical Rehabilitation. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including hospital, small and rural private practice clinics. Rachel joined the Elite team as a co-owner in 2013, wanting to expand her professional portfolio and work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Since graduating, Rachel has taken several continuing education courses to further her knowledge in the evolving physiotherapy world. She thoroughly enjoys integrating what she has learned into her day-to-day practice. Some of the courses she has taken include Functional Dry Needling, Acupuncture and functional movement testing through SFMA, FCS, and FMS. Rachel’s treatments are active-based and hands on. She has experience with manual therapy, Mulligan treatment, IASTM and exercise therapy to keep her clients engaged in their recovery.
Rachel has volunteered with the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba over her 10 year career and is a member in Good Standing. She is also a member of the Canadian and Manitoba Physiotherapy Associations.
Rachel, her husband and 2 daughters love to be active as a family. They enjoy skating, biking, going to the park/zoo, camping and exploring our awesome city and province. Rachel likes to run, lift weights, play ringette and tennis as well as cook and garden at home.

Robyn Eyer
Robyn graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2015 and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2017. As a former member of the University of
Manitoba basketball team, her interest in physiotherapy began from time spent
rehabilitating from her own injuries where she learned the importance of therapy for high
level performance.
Since graduating, Robyn has worked in a variety of multidisciplinary clinics with clients of all ages and fitness levels. She strongly believes in individualized rehabilitation
programs with a focus on functional exercise to help meet client goals. Robyn is
certified in acupuncture and dry needling and has taken continuing education courses
through the Orthopedic Division, as well as additional education in concussion
management and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. She has a particular interest in treating injuries of the shoulder, knee and ankle.
In her spare time Robyn maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys cooking/baking and spending time outdoors with her family.

Codey DeBlois
Codey graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 and Master of Physiotherapy in 2020. Growing up, he played baseball at the provincial level and club volleyball. He also spent 8 years coaching high school volleyball. Throughout sport, he dealt with injury and became familiar with physiotherapy which sparked an interest in pursuing a career in the profession.
Following graduation, he moved to Dauphin, MB where he worked both in hospital and at a local clinic for 2 years. Since returning to Winnipeg in 2022 he has been part of the Elite Sports Injury team where he had previously completed a student placement at the Assiniboine location.

Codey is passionate about physiotherapy and has acted as a clinical instructor for physiotherapy students. He enjoys helping individuals as they strive towards their goals. He will use a wide variety of manual therapy techniques, as well as provide you with an individualized exercise program and management strategies to help you throughout your recovery.
He loves talking about his 1 ½ year old golden retriever as well as the Winnipeg Jets!

Paula Sather
Paula graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2011 and Master of Physical Therapy in 2013. Paula is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the NSCA, previously working with speed swimmers, synchronized swimmers, National and Olympic level divers, and dancers.
Most recently, Paula has shifted her practice to treating individuals with scoliosis. With her previous caseload of swimmers and artistic athletes, she found these types of sports had a higher prevalence of spinal curvature abnormalities. With this she came to discover a lack of non-surgical treatment options available for anyone with scoliosis. In 2021, Paula completed training in International Schroth 3D Scoliosis Therapy, and has a certificate as a ISST Schroth Therapist.
Paula’s goal is to be a resource for individuals with scoliosis or kyphosis of all types and ages. She will be able to provide therapy those who are interested in:
- Reduction of their curvature (if able)
- Prevention of curve progression
- Reduce pain related or secondary to scoliosis/kyphosis
- Bracing support
- Post operative rehabilitation
- Scoliosis and injury rehab as it relates to their sport

Hillary is a physiotherapist who graduated with a Bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of Winnipeg in 2020, and with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the
University of Manitoba in 2022.
Hillary’s passion for movement began at an early age, through various sports such as cross-country, basketball and touring for ultimate frisbee. She is a strong advocate for physical activity and health promotion, believing that an active lifestyle is essential to overall well-being. Hillary uses an active-based approach to help you regain your strength and function, empowering you to recover and thrive through movement. With a focus on personalized care, she will guide you through your rehabilitation journey with both professional insight and a commitment to your wellness.
Hillary is certified in acupuncture and has pursued continuing education through the Manitoba Orthopaedic Division. Hillary is committed to expanding her knowledge and skills, particularly in strength and conditioning, as well as manual therapy. Having personally experienced a traumatic knee injury in her university years, Hillary has a special interest in treating knee-related conditions.
Outside of work, Hillary loves to stay active through running and strength training. She is challenging herself to compete in her first triathlon soon. In her free time, she loves to be at the lake, hike and play frisbee.

Melissa Johnstone
Melissa graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2006 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy. She worked at a private clinic treating all types of musculoskeletal injuries for 6 years, at which time she took a hiatus to build her booming side business as a wedding and portrait photographer and start a family.
She has returned to practice in 2024, aligning with her passion for fitness, movement, and living a healthy lifestyle.
Melissa loves to spend time with her husband and two daughters and their newest family member, a mini goldendoodle! When she’s not working in one of her many businesses, you can find her on a spin bike somewhere!

Leana graduated from The Massage College of Manitoba in 2000. She works five days a week out of the Courts of St. James and enjoys the challenges of new musculo-skeletal injuries. As a former bodybuilder, fitness instructor and MT for the military national volleyball team, she brings a wealth of knowledge in sports rehab and recovery. In her free time, Leana enjoys spending time with her family, weight training, swimming, reading, and tap dance. She has also taken courses in Cranio-Sacral Therapy 1, Raindrop Therapy, Myofascial Vacuum cupping, Dhyana Massage Therapy (deep scar tissue therapy), pre/post natal fitness instruction, osteoporosis and office ergonomics, psychological first aid, Rock taping 1&2 and Rockblading 1&2.

A graduate of Wellington College of Remedial Massage, Kris is versed in both Remedial and Therapeutic Massage. With a background in baseball and weightlifting, he feels that routine massage therapy was beneficial in maintaining performance and staying injury free.
Kris loves the complexity of the Scapula/GH articulation, and enjoys working with shoulder dysfunctions. He is also trained in Hot Stone and Pre/Post Sports Massage and will be continuing his education to broaden his toolset with training in Cupping, Rock Blading, Rock Taping, and Soft Tissue Release, in the very near future.
In his free time Kris enjoys soccer, baseball, weightlifting, golf and hockey.

Barry Connor
Barry graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1999 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (physical therapy) and has worked exclusively in orthopedics since that time. He has completed post-graduate training in acupuncture, taping techniques, manual and manipulative therapy, exercise therapy including Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and pre and post-operative rehabilitation. Barry regularly participates in continuing medical education to provide his patients with the most current evidence-based treatment techniques.
With over 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist, Barry enjoys meeting the rehabilitation goals of individuals from high-level athletes to high-level gardeners or whatever other pursuit brings them to his door. Barry has worked as medical volunteer with numerous sports teams over the years and, as a former athlete, understands the specific rehabilitation needs associated with this population.
Barry is involved in the professional community through serving on various boards, lecturing at continuing education seminars and volunteering in the community.

Maxine graduated from the University of Manitoba, School of Medical Rehabilitation with her Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy. Growing up Maxine loved sports, playing ringette, soccer and hockey, and found that physiotherapy was the perfect way to integrate her passion for a healthy lifestyle, along with her desire to help others. She strives to provide the best service possible to her clients and continues to further her education through a variety of courses and certifications.
Maxine is certified in Acupuncture, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Functional Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), as well as the Advanced Orthopedics Manual and Manipulative therapy courses. Noelle Enns
Noelle graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2015. She loves working with people of all ages, to help educate them on the importance of movement and how to incorporate it into their daily lives. She has a keen interest in running injuries and helping runners get back on track to complete their goals.
Noelle is a certified professional with The Running Clinic, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (Levels I-II), Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling (Levels I-II), Acupuncture, and with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Levels I-II). She has completed other courses in Mulligan Concepts, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, as well as Facial Movement Taping, to name a few.
Noelle incorporates movement and activity throughout her daily life. When she is not busy chasing her two little girls around, she spends her free time running and playing ultimate frisbee. She also enjoys cross-country skiing, cycling, and exploring the wilderness in her canoe.

Lorissa Klopak-Watt
Lorissa graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2014, with a Masters of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Kinesiology. In her practice, Lorissa embraces the functional movement approach to physiotherapy, “Move well, Move often” with an important emphasis on injury prevention. She has continued her pursuit of education with postgraduate certification in Acupuncture, Dry needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Manual orthopaedic level 2, a member of the Alison Grimaldi Hip Academy along with several other courses.
Her path to physiotherapy began while playing competitive sports including hockey and softball. During that time she was fortunate to work with many different physiotherapists and trainers. Her area of interest is low back, pelvis and hip pathologies but has experience will all joints in the body. As a result of her training and experience, Lorissa believes in a client centered approach to help her clients reach their goals, and to improve quality of life.
Lorissa enjoys spending time with her family and staying active by running around after three children, Calin, Hayden and Maddyn. She enjoys recreational sports including golf, slo-pitch, as well as running and weight training.

Atoosa graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in 2019 and Master of Physical Therapy in 2021.
As a former member of the University of Manitoba Basketball team, Atoosa became interested in the rehabilitation of sports injuries early on in her university career. With interests and backgrounds in science, sports, and physical activity, she finds great passion in working to rehabilitate patients of all ages, abilities, and injury types.
Atoosa believes in lifelong education and hopes to advance in her Manual orthopedic levels. She believes in empowering the patient by taking an active approach to treatment. In her spare time, Atoosa enjoys spending time with her family, running, weight training, playing basketball, and going for walks with her Golden Retriever Winston.

Brad Green
Brad graduated from The University of Alberta in 2017 with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy. Before moving to Alberta, he completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology (honours) at the University of Manitoba in 2014. Since graduating, Brad has done continuing education courses through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Levels I-III, upper and lower body), Gunn IMS (intramuscular stimulation), and Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling (Levels I-II).
Brad has a background and keen interest in strength and conditioning. He utilizes his knowledge of fitness principles to help create individualized rehabilitation plans to help his clients meet their goals. He has experience working with clients of all ages and has worked with individuals ranging from recreational exercisers to professional and international level athletes. Brad also has experience working in interdisciplinary clinics alongside sports medicine physicians and orthopaedic surgeons and has a strong interest in treating ACL injuries and post operative rehab.
Growing up, Brad participated in a variety of sports, including Taekwondo, basketball, rugby, and football. His main focus shifted to football as a teenager and he eventually played three seasons with the Winnipeg Rifles of the Canadian Junior Football League. After hanging up the cleats, Brad began Olympic weightlifting and was a national level competitor.
In his free time, Brad enjoys spending time with his family, lifting weights, and cooking.

Kevin Loewen
Kevin graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree in 2019 and went on to complete his Master’s of Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba in 2022.
Kevin has been interested in rehabilitation for years and has developed a passion for helping people achieve their recovery goals. This interest was initially developed after experiencing many injuries himself as he competed in soccer programs in Winnipeg. These injuries led him to seek Physiotherapy and saw how beneficial it can be for people. Kevin’s practice philosophy centers around helping individuals recover from all forms of injuries so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
Kevin is eager to continue his education through advancement in manual orthopedic levels. His treatment approach is an active approach focussing on the connection between manual therapy and exercise plans. Kevin also enjoys camping with friends, bonfires, playing soccer and ultimate, and travelling.

Deedee Schultz
Deedee graduated with her Master of Physical Therapy in 2022 at the University of Manitoba with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Deedee promotes a holistic lifestyle and strives to tailor treatment individually through client centred approaches. Deedee’s approach is about giving control back to clients in their daily activities and to participate in new activities with confidence. She uses evidence-based manual therapy techniques, exercise, and education to reduce pain and improve function.
Deedee strongly believes in continuing education and being a lifelong learner. She is certified in Acupuncture, Myofascial Blading through RockTape and has taken additional courses in non-internal Pelvic Floor and Vestibular Dysfunction. Deedee has completed various Orthopedic mini courses in manual therapy. She has participated in ACL injury protocol research through her time at University of Manitoba. Deedee plans to pursue further education and certifications relating to manual therapy and acupuncture/dry needling. Additionally, Deedee is interested in Vestibular dysfunction, Pediatrics, and Neurological disorders.
Deedee grew up playing a variety of sports like hockey and softball. She now spends her free time kayaking, hiking, skijoring with her husky, and spending time in nature. Deedee also has a passion for mechanics, as she was part of the University of Manitoba Space Applications and technology Society where her team received first place in Canadas Satellite Design Challenge. On the weekends she likes to work on her project car or garden.

Martin Skiarski
Martin graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Physical therapy in 2022 after attaining a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology in 2020. While Studying, Martin worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach at various facilities with athletes and non-athletes of all ages. Martin is passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals, optimize their functional movement and improve sport and performance through personalized treatment plans that combine exercise, manual therapy and education. Martin also offer’s Physiotherapy services in Spanish.
Martin has completed post graduated certifications in Orthopedic Upper Level 2, Strength and conditioning in rehab, Integrated Kinetic Neurology, to name a few and plans to pursue certifications in Acupuncture and Dry Needling in the coming years.
In his free time, Martin likes to keep active by playing sport’s, working out and taking long hikes. Occasionally (if he feels particularly adventurous) indulging in his favourite hobby: testing out new recipes in the kitchen.

Laura graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2024 and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2022.
Laura played a variety of sports growing up, and injuries from those sports, as well as a passion for helping people and a love for anatomy, led her to the field of physiotherapy. She loves working with people of all ages and using a person-centred approach to find treatments that work best for each individual. Laura is also passionate about educating people on ways to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives, as well as helping people exercise in ways that are meaningful to them. Laura values the importance of lifelong learning and she plans to take courses to continue to expand her knowledge to further help her clients.

Sophie Menet-Espina
Sophie graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2024 with a Masters of Physical Therapy.
She obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2022. Sophie has over five years of experience working at Elite as an elite professional. During this time, she gained a deeper understanding of proper movement patterns and exercise progressions. As a physiotherapist, she wants to implement those fundamental concepts with her clients. Her physiotherapy approach focuses on a blend of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and education.
Sophie’s interest in physical therapy started when she volunteered at a personal care home. She saw firsthand how physiotherapy services helped its residents maintain their quality of life and prolong their independence. Sophie wants to empower her clients using client centered care. This approach focuses on personalizing a treatment care plan that aligns with the client’s goals.
Sophie also offers Physiotherapy services in French and Spanish. Throughout her clinical placements, Sophie assessed and treated various musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and abilities. Sophie values the importance of continued education. She is interested in learning new skills such as acupuncture and dry needling.

Jay Bachman
Jay is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2011. Since graduation he has worked with gyms, medical clinics and with a wide variety of manual therapists. He considers balance to be an important part of life, mind and body. His treatment-based approach revolves around finding asymmetries and working to bring a better understanding of one’s own body mechanics. He has found that the use of deep tissue and muscle energy techniques can oftentimes create quick and lasting results when dealing with tension; while focusing on the body’s compensations when instability arises. Jay has a special interest with pelvic/sacral and vertebral dysfunctions and has also completed courses in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Mobilization and Myofascial Release.
In his down time, Jay enjoys the outdoors, art and is heavily involved in the Winnipeg music scene.

Vanessa Dela Rosa
Vanessa has been a part of the Elite team for over a decade and has enjoyed every bit of it. She started her career with Elite Sports Injury as an Elite Professional cultivating her interest in patient care, education, and wellness. Her position has allowed a seamless transition as a treating Remedial Massage Therapist.
She graduated in 2012 from the University of Manitoba from the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, specializing in the Athletic Therapy stream. She continued her education and passion for patient care and wellness to earn a diploma in Massage Therapy in July 2020 from the Evolve College of Massage Therapy.
Vanessa enjoys being as active as possible and is involved with the local dance community helping direct SIKAT dance company. She grew up playing soccer and competing in rhythmic gymnastics but due to a few injuries her competitive career shifted focus to soccer, where she played at a premier level with the Bonivital Flames. Now she enjoys staying active through recreational coed volleyball and soccer but still competes, occasionally teaches, and travels with dance.
Her passion for sport and helping others has created a practice that involves balancing the body. She incorporates assessment findings with patient concerns and goals to create their treatment plan. The focus of her work is to help reduce pain, restore balance, encourage movement, and of course relaxation. She specializes in therapeutic relaxation and treatment massage. Vanessa is also certified in cupping, both static and dynamic, through Cupping Canada. It can be added to any treatment and it is great for decompression, to help increase range of motion due to muscle tension, and pain management!
Learning is an exciting and never-ending journey. Through extended education courses she continues to explore different techniques to help her clients move better, move well, and be happy.

Shannon Tarr
Shannon graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2022 with her Bachelor of Science in
Athletic Therapy and certified as an Athletic therapist later the same year.
She has an abundance of field experience, working with AAA hockey teams as well as university-level volleyball, basketball, and soccer teams. She assisted athletes and individuals with varying injuries, ages, and backgrounds. Shannon’s time at the field provided her with firsthand experience of sports-related injuries.
Shannon has continued her education in compression therapy and fittings for orthopedic bracing, compression socks and orthotics. She is pursuing further education in manual therapy, exercise, and other treatment rehabilitation techniques.
Shannon’s passion for athletic therapy is rooted in her journey as an athlete. Experiencing injuries herself, Athletic Therapy has helped Shannon in the past to recover with confidence to keep doing the things she loves. She strives to do the same for her patients, empowering them to reach their recovery goals in an inclusive and accessible space.

Ricky Paggao
Ricky is a physiotherapist who strongly believes in client-centred and active-based rehabilitation. He embraces the functional movement approach, which teaches people to “move well, move often”. Not only does he have a passion for helping his clients get back to the activities they enjoy, but also emphasizes the importance of injury prevention.
Ricky graduated from the University of Manitoba and has been a physiotherapist for over 15 years. Ricky has a strong interest in sports rehab and musculoskeletal injuries and is proud to be part of the Elite family since 2013. He is currently a co-owner and the lead physiotherapist at Elite Sports Injury Transcona.
Continuing education has always been a priority. Ricky received post-graduate certification in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Acupuncture, Functional Movement Systems (SFMA, FMS, FCS), Hardstyle Kettlebell Certification (HKC), Mulligan techniques and many other advanced sports-related and orthopedic courses.
Outside of his clinical practice, Ricky served many roles for the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba, the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators.
Busy with three young boys at home, Ricky and his wife are excited to help them discover their passions and embark on life’s adventures together. In his spare time, Ricky enjoys kettlebells, bodyweight and strength training, obstacle course racing, soccer and traveling.

Lea graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree in 2016. Fueled by her passion for exercise, anatomy and helping others, she then went on to graduate with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2018.
She believes in lifelong learning and further advancing her knowledge and skills through continuing education courses and webinars. She is certified in acupuncture, completed the advanced orthopaedic level 2 courses, and plans to complete the level 3 courses in the near future.
Lea recognizes that everyone is unique and caters her treatment and exercise plan to fit each individual’s needs and looks forward to meeting you to help you reach your mobility and fitness goals.

Brett graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2022, after graduating with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree in 2020.
Sport and fitness have had a large influence in Brett’s career path. While training as a gymnast, competing in track and field events, playing volleyball, and embarking on her own resistance training journey, Brett learned to love challenging her athletic ability. She gained an appreciation for the resiliency of the human body in the face of new demands and/or injury. Fostered through different coaching and clinical experiences, Brett’s passion for educating individuals about physical activity and related subjects further solidified her career choice in Physiotherapy.
Brett values staying up to date with current research and is excited to pursue further education in exercise therapy, pain science and manual therapy within the Orthopaedic Division.
Brett recognizes that many factors can influence a person’s state of health, including not solely their physical condition or state of injury, but how this aspect is intertwined with psychological and social factors. Brett is passionate about actively engaging her clients as team members in their rehabilitation or prehabilitation journeys, listening to their unique needs, and developing individually tailored care plans, which may include a combination of hands-on and activity-based treatments, exercise programs and education. She strives to empower clients of all abilities and ages to reach their goals!
In her spare time, Brett continues to play volleyball and enjoys challenging her strength and endurance through resistance training, cycling, and her most recent adoption of recreational tennis. TaHa Hijazi
TaHa is a physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019 and his Masters of Physical Therapy in 2022.
TaHa is an elite athlete who played a variety of sports growing up. He learned the key principles of proper strength training at a young age and became an impressive power lifter. TaHa competed and coached at the provincial and national levels.
After retiring the inzer belt and wrist wraps, TaHa began to pursue his new passion for endurance sports. TaHa finished his first full marathon at the 2022 Manitoba Marathon and will start training for his first duathlon after he competes at the WFPS half marathon this October!
TaHa’s fervor for exercise shows in the way he practices and wholeheartedly believes that movement is therapy. In addition to his active-based approach, TaHa plans to further develop his manual therapy skills through the Orthopaedic Division. He also has a strong interest in other post-graduate skills including acupuncture, dry needling, Mulligan techniques and advances in exercise prescription.
In his spare time, you can find TaHa hiking in the mountains, running, cycling, cross country and downhill skiing, and strength training. He also enjoys promoting physical activity in the community and has volunteered for many events including motionball, Terry fox run and U–Turn Parkinson’s.

Lauren Kerr
Lauren was born and raised in Winnipeg. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2018 and has loved empowering clients in the province ever since. Lauren’s passion for physical rehabilitation shows by her warm demeanor and infectious optimism. She is dedicated to listening, being thorough, and advocating for your care. Whether you are an elite athlete with a nagging injury or an individual struggling with daily tasks post stroke, Lauren will work with you to optimize your potential.
Lauren’s practice style includes various hands-on techniques, detailed explanations, and exercise prescriptions best suited to your individual needs. Her goal will always be to help you achieve yours. Lauren has also completed additional training in orthopaedics including Orthopedic Level 2 and other musculoskeletal courses. She continues to pursue further education, particularly the orthopaedic levels. She also has been working with neurological patients and has a special interest in working with patients with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease due to their close to home impacts; exercise will always be medicine.
Lauren’s other strengths include a high-level understanding of elite dance and competitive volleyball due to her involvement in her youth. Growing up she also played soccer, softball, rugby, and ultimate frisbee. Outside of work Lauren enjoys caring for her daughter, crafting, playing music, as well as spending time with family at the lake. She maintains a physical lifestyle by playing competitive volleyball, doing yoga, performing ballet, and going disc golfing.

Trevor Horvath
Trevor is the lead physiotherapist at Elite Sports Injury’s Downtown Winnipeg location.
Trevor graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1991 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy. And has spend the last 28 years working exclusively within the scope of Orthopedics and Sports Injury. During that time he has treated all varieties of clients of all levels and abilities with a focus of early restoration of function.
Since graduation Trevor has taken a broad based approach to continuing education including Orthopedic and Manual Therapy, Acupuncture Certification, Custom Orthotics, Exercise Prescription, Therapeutic taping and many other treatment ideologies. In addition he is an Examiner for the Physiotherapy National Exam and has served on committees with the College Of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.
A lifelong athlete, he has had the privilege of being a member and Captain of both Team Manitoba and Team Canada in different sports over the years, and is an inductee into the Manitoba Disc Sports Hall of Fame. His experiences with Sports, as well as simply exercise and training have given him personal insight on working with athletes, but equally perspectives on common everyday injuries and issues experienced by everyone. He believes in approaching clients with a combination of local treatment, education and exercise to work towards their best recovery.
Still an avid athlete he spends time from work with his wife and two young children enjoying their family time and their pursuits.

Deric graduated with Masters of Physical Therapy, and Bachelor of Science in cellular and molecular biology.
During his running career competing at the university level across North America and earning academic All-Canadian four years in a row, Deric became fascinated with physical performance and the role of healthcare professionals in helping optimize performance and/or returning to baseline after injuries. He believes in helping patients take control of their own rehab in order to achieve their goals and return to the things they love. He believes using multiple approaches has the most potential to help patients, and so is excited to continue his lifelong learning with further education in manual therapy, exercise, and acupuncture/dry needling.

Prabhjot Mundi
Prabhjot graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy (2024) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2020) from the University of Manitoba.
Prabhjot’s interest in movement and function began at an early age as she played a variety of sports growing up. She witnessed firsthand how sports injuries can affect both the physical performance and mental well-being of athletes. When volunteering in an outpatient physiotherapy clinic she learned how individualized rehabilitation plans can help patients recover quickly through the incorporation of personal functional goals into their rehab plan. This early exposure to the importance of physical rehabilitation sparked a desire to help others regain their functional abilities and improve their quality of life.
During her physical therapy education Prabhjot has worked and obtained skills in a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions. She has a keen interest in neurological rehabilitation and is interested in furthering her skill set by taking certification courses in the future.
Prabhjot also provides physiotherapy services in Punjabi and Hindi and is committed to helping patients of all backgrounds achieve optimal physical health and wellness. Prabhjot uses a client centered and evidence-based approach to help clients meet their functional goals. She believes educating her clients is the best way to ensure continued progress, long-term recovery, and the prevention of future injuries.

Kathleen Casey (KC) Mance – Physiotherapy Exam Candidate
KC graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2022 and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2024. KC is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP).
KC embraces an active lifestyle, from her days playing basketball in her youth to her current routines of strength training, running, and exploring new sports. Shortly after high school, she took the role of assistant coach for her former high school basketball team, further deepening her connection to the sport. She gained experience creating exercise programs as a personal trainer, working with clients in both one-on-one and group settings. Through these diverse experiences in fitness and through her clinical placements, KC witnessed how movement positively impacts physical and mental well-being across all ages and abilities. This insight, combined with her passion for sports and fitness, inspired KC to pursue a career in physiotherapy.
KC’s goal is to highlight the significance of movement and assist clients in building their confidence, overcoming obstacles, and actively engaging in their own rehabilitation. KC’s approach involves creating personalized treatment plans that combines manual therapy, exercise, and education. Cloey Skrypnyk
Growing up in Petersfield Manitoba, Cloey played a variety of sports including synchronized swimming, soccer, volleyball, and rugby. Her involvement in athletics developed her passion for health, wellness, and human anatomy from a very young age. After spending some time at the University of Winnipeg pursuing Athletic Therapy, Cloey quickly learned that her approach to treatment resonated more with the art and science of Massage Therapy. She enrolled at Evolve College of Massage Therapy, and graduated as valedictorian and top of her class in June of 2022.
Cloey is trained in Myofascial Therapy, Sports Massage, and Cupping. Her approach to treatment is centered around the biopsychosocial model of an individual, and not just reduced to their physical body. While in her treatment room you can expect a thorough assessment of your condition, to engage in deep breathing exercises , be asked for feedback during your treatment, and be encouraged to utilize the fitness facilities at the clinic in order to facilitate your rehab and treatment goals.

Emily Biggs is a Registered Massage Therapist who chose this career because she wanted to get people out of pain as well as provide environments for others to feel safe in. Em’s approach combines therapeutic modalities such as RAPID Neurofascial Reset, Myofascial and Trigger point work to help you reach your treatment goals. With experience in both spa and clinic environments, Em is able to choose from a variety of techniques to enhance your treatment together. Your sessions with Emily will always start with a conversation to clarify the intention at the beginning of your treatment. It is important to Em that you feel listened to. A main intention she has in her practice is that she wants you to be able to get back to your life fully and understands when an injury, prolonged stress, and trauma blocks that from happening.
Em enjoys biking, camping and hiking throughout the year and competes in biathlon during the winter. Other hobbies include reading, sewing and learning new things consistently.

Kayla is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from Evolve College of Massage Therapy. She has a strong background in exercise and as a Personal Trainer. Originally from a rural community in Irma, AB, Kayla loves to strike a rapport with her clients so that treatments are done with the whole person in mind.
Kayla’s focus is on working with Athletes, with a specialization on Deep Tissue and Joint Mobilization. She has a passion for assessing a client and putting the puzzle of their body’s idiosyncrasies together. When working with Kayla you can expect her to work on the treatment plan with you, consistently ask for feedback and revise treatments as necessary. During treatment she will encourage you to make use of the fitness and rehab facilities that are critical for your success.
