Kris graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba in 2016. Alongside being an Elite Professional, Kris currently works as a personal trainer, working mainly with hockey players ranging from minor to professional athletes. His love of sports and physical activity along with his desire to help others has led him to pursue a career in physiotherapy as he will be applying for the Masters of Physiotherapy program for fall 2018. Kris has been active in sports his whole life and continues to enjoy hockey, soccer, running, and strength training.



Atoosa Jalayeri

Atoosa Jalayeri, Elite Professional, Bridgwater

Atoosa is a student at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Science. Her intensive background in sport (University of Manitoba Women’s basketball team, Team Manitoba Basketball) and passion in academic excellence drives her to pursue work, which combines health and physical activity. She aspires to become a physician or a physiotherapist. Atoosa’s current position as an Elite Professional has further inspired her on this path. She is motivated to work with our clients through proper exercise techniques on the road to recovery. To stay active, she enjoys running, weightlifting, cycling, tennis and various other outdoor activities.



Samantha Bergal

Sam Bergal, Elite Professional, Bridgwater

Sam is currently a student at the University of Winnipeg studying Kinesiology – Athletic Therapy. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree her goal is to apply to Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba. Combining health and physical activity has always been something Sam has been passionate about which is what drew her to working at Elite. Sam says it is rewarding to know you are contributing to the rehabilitation process of others after a major or minor injury has occurred. Whether it is teaching clients something new about body awareness, or ensuring an exercise is done properly, Sam always wants the best for others and working at Elite has helped her to accomplish this. Outside of work Sam maintains an active lifestyle in a variety of diverse ways, however dance and Yoga have always been a passion. Sam was a competitive dancer when she was younger, which allowed her to compete in the IDO World Dance Championships three years in a row. These competitions have taken her to Orlando Florida, Niagara Falls Canada, and New York City.

Janelle is a University of Manitoba student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. To stay active, she dances competitively and trains in acrobatic and aerial skills. She found her love for dance at a very young age and growing up at the studio teaching her own students now is what carved her path towards wanting to help others. She enjoys being able to work with different clients every day, meet them and help wherever needed. She believes keeping a positive mindset can assist with the healing process and does her best to help the clients stay motivated and confident in themselves. As an Elite Professional, she works hard to ensure our clients are well informed and comfortable with their exercises, to provide and maintain their path towards recovery.



Madeline Lengyel

Maddy Lengyal, Elite Professional, Bridgwater

Madeline graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2017 with a Bachelor in Kinesiology. She has a lot of previous experience in strength training and rehabilitation as she has been working as a Physiotherapy Assistant since 2015. As an Elite Professional, she is excited to share her knowledge with clients when teaching proper movement patterns, techniques and posture. She is eager to help motivate clients reach their personal health and fitness goals every step of the way.

Madeline has been a sports enthusiast from a young age. She played competitive soccer and basketball throughout high school and continues to play competitive women’s hockey, volleyball and dodgeball. Recently, she also completed her Group Fitness Instructor certification through Manitoba Fitness Council and is looking forward to instructing exercise classes in her free time.

Colin graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology-Athletic Therapy in 2018. He looks forward to becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist and working alongside other professionals, whether it be in the field or clinical settings. Working with athletes of different sports at the University of Manitoba has helped him develop an interest in the assessment and rehabilitation of many different types of injuries and conditions. He loves sharing his experience and knowledge of the human body and exercise with others, in hopes of helping them achieve their personal goals. Outside of work, Colin’s life-long passion for sport and exercise has lead him to continue participating in hockey, volleyball, cycling, and strength training.

I am currently completing my final year as a student in the faculty of Environment, Earth and Resources with a focus on sustainable development in environmental studies at the University of Manitoba. My continuing goal is to complete a masters in sustainable development or environmental management.

I have played competitively for the Women’s Bisons Basketball team for the past five years and have coached for the Junior Bison program as a way to give back to a great program and to teach the future of basketball.

Playing at an elite level and understanding the importance of taking care of your body gives me the passion for this job as an Elite Professional. Being able to continue learning and working with physiotherapists to help others is a great way to keep health and fitness as a significant part of my life.

Vanessa graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2012 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology – Athletic Therapy. She currently works as a physiotherapy aide (Elite Professional) at Elite as well as a sales associate at our partner, Performance Healthware. Vanessa was a former client of Elite, and is motivated by her experience to help clients learn proper exercise techniques; with the goal of making them more aware of their bodies so as to return safely and quickly to activity.

To stay active Vanessa dances hip hop competitively, plays volleyball, and will forever have a place in her heart (with or without knees) to play her favourite sport, soccer!

Mikayla is a University of Manitoba student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She intends to apply to a Master of Physical Therapy upon completion of her undergraduate degree. Mikayla’s interest in anatomy and respect for a healthy and active lifestyle drove her towards a career in Physical Therapy. Currently, Mikayla volunteers at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children as a Recreation Support Worker and keeps active through various sports including running and kayaking. Mikayla has been involved in sports her entire life with a passion for hockey, track and field, and cross country. At Elite Sports Injury, Mikayla strives to provide clients with a sense of accomplishment and a safe and quick recovery by instructing proper and effective exercise techniques.

Heena graduated in physiotherapy from India and is now working as an Elite Professional at Meadowood. She aspires to become a licensed physiotherapist in Canada while continuing education to stay updated with the best practices in physiotherapy. She is motivated by the role that exercise can play (when executed properly) in a patient’s recovery.

Heena practices yoga and loves evening basketball sessions with her family to stay active. Creative writing and Bollywood dancing are, however, what she enjoys the most.

Morgan is currently completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba in Evolution and Biodiversity. Upon completion of her degree, she plans to further her education in the health care field. She currently works as an Elite Professional as well as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Morgan enjoys working with others, helping them improve their physical health and stay active. She was introduced to the Elite clinic as a client, appreciated the care and rehabilitation that she was given, and aspires to provide the same service to the current clients that come to Elite.

In her spare time, Morgan likes to stay active playing hockey, basketball, and rollerblading. She remains active in her community by coaching club basketball, and volunteering at the Victoria General Hospital.



Brenna McNulty

Brenna graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Kinesiology – Sport Performance. While attending University in Edmonton, Brenna played both Varsity Hockey and Rugby. As a student athlete, Brenna sustained her fair share of sports injuries. Throughout her own recovery, Brenna further developed a keen interest in rehabilitation science and plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. As an elite professional, Brenna strives to motivate clients through their recovery while teaching proper exercise techniques.

Brenna currently is an active member of the rugby community in Manitoba and enjoys staying fit by running, biking and playing soccer.



Kelsey Lacroix

Kelsey will graduate from the University of Winnipeg in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science, Athletic Therapy. She is certified in First Aid and a First Responder. Kelsey also works at Performance Healthware as a sales associate.

Kelsey has worked with U of W Wrestling, Transcona Nationals Football, and St. Boniface Riels Hockey. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge in various sports and volunteering for more events in the future!

Since an early age, she knew she wanted a career that centered around people and injuries. She grew up always playing a sport, whether it be volleyball, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics, or flag football. This connected well with Kinesiology. She will continue her education to acquire more skills, enabling her to help more people.

She is passionate about functioning as a helping hand for clients by teaching their exercises and ensuring they perform them properly – leading to a full recovery!

Currently, Kelsey continues to play volleyball, and in the summer, you can find her on the beach court – or on a boat at the lake!

Dao is currently a second year student at the University of Manitoba and is hoping to pursue his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy within the near future. He currently is working as an Elite Professional at the Meadowood location and was also a client of Elite for rehabilitation of his knee in 2015.

In his pastime he enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, working on cars and collecting shoes.

Emily graduated from Providence University College in 2016 with a major in social science and a minor in biology. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Physical Therapy while working as an Elite professional.

During her time at Providence University, Emily played for the women’s volleyball team for four seasons and on the soccer team for one season. Aside from playing volleyball she also has years of coaching experience in the sport. Emily is an avid runner, enjoys canoeing and camping trips, and especially loves the spring when she is able to get outdoors more often and work in her family’s greenhouse.

Emily appreciates working at Elite as a great place to share her enthusiasm for living an active and healthy lifestyle while helping client’s reach their goals.

I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology in 2016. I am now working on getting my second degree at the University of Winnipeg in the Athletic Therapy Program.

As well as an Elite Professional at Elite Sports Injury, I am also a personal trainer at Elite Performance training center where I train athletes at all levels. I have been surrounded by sports and athletes my whole life. My dad was a goaltender in the NHL and I played Division 1 soccer in Texas. Seeing athletes go through injuries and going through injuries myself sparked a passion for rehabilitation. I am motivated about helping clients reach their health and fitness goals by getting them on the right track to recovery!

Jared is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Winnipeg. He has four years of physiotherapy clinic experience and has also been working as a personal trainer.

He plans on completing several courses in the future such as Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT), and Myofascial Release. She obtained certifications in time management and Leadership, as well as two years experience in customer service.

Graphic design is her favorite hobby, even though she hasn’t had any formal education at it. She has worked with an Advertising Magazine and Official channels on web as an advertisements designer.

Sarah is one of our most recent additions to the Elite Professional team and is currently working toward her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Winnipeg. Sarah’s experience includes various forms of dance, yoga, and as a group fitness instructor focusing on progressive bootcamps and stretching techniques. Sarah is a great addition to the Elite team because of her passionate for helping others through rehabilitation and exercise.

Sarah enjoys the challenge of acrobatic workouts such as acro yoga, silks, pole fitness, and hand balancing to stay fit. She also loves to host board game nights complete with healthy snacks.

Meg is an immigrant from Australia who arrived in Canada in 2013, a journey which eventually led to her becoming part of the Elite Professional team. With over 10 years of customer service experience, people are one of Meg’s passions, and she hopes to be able to utilize those skills to make everyone feel welcome at Elite Sports Injury.

It is her goal to pursue a degree in Business Administration and Accounting in the future.

In her spare time, Meg enjoys the intellectual challenges of puzzles, playing board games, and indulging in her passion for writing. She is also an avid feline and reptile enthusiast, with a passion for animals, and enjoys learning everything she can through her three reptiles: Acheron, Meliae, and Rhea.

Recovery for all levels

Elite specializes in injury recovery for all sports and levels of athlete. Our team facilitates rapid access to complete recovery. Frequently, we see patients within a day or two of their physician exam when return to full function is critical. We immediately address acute swelling, pain and compensatory issues and initiate a home program to maintain strength and motion.

Your Part

In order to ensure a successful treatment and speed recovery, you need to be fully committed to your treatment plan. Your time in the clinic is only part of the process. The exercises and perhaps changes in your own behavior are a crucial part of your plan.
